Leadership has been a critical component of Encounter. Encounter has been blessed with many instrumental leaders in its short life, with each leader influencing and molding it with his or her individual skills, passions, and spiritual gifts. The leadership structure has been flexible enough to evolve with time and with new leadership. The leadership retreat during which we redefined the mission and defined its core values was greatly formulated by the leaders present at the retreat, but also by the goals and lessons learned from the past.

The mission and core values were the concentrated ideas that expressed much more. The expression of that mission and the core values is slightly different for each person and each leader, yet they are united in a common goal. Encouraging and developing new leadership is critical to the continued ministry of Encounter as well as the personal development of its members as disciples of Christ.
