Sabbath School The Sabbath School is comprised of worshiping God through song, studying about God through small group Bible study, and fellowshipping with each other. Each week a different Encounter member presents the lesson, providing a framework for in-depth study of all or part of the adult Sabbath School quarterly. An ice breaker question usually begins the time, which allows an opportunity for members to learn more about each other, thereby strengthening the community of belonging that we are striving for. Small groups are formed for the actual study, which provides an opportunity for everyone to be involved and to speak up in a non-threatening format. After study, the groups re-join to debrief and share what was learned in the small groups. Following this is a time for fellowshipping and partaking of the tasty treats provided by members of Encounter. One tends to walk out of Sabbath School with the feeling that s/he has just had a full experience, much like that of attending church.
