Description: Service has been an important component of Encounter and an essential element in the discipleship process. There have been numerous one-time event service opportunities, such as a coordinated park clean-up. In addition, Encounter has sponsored several recurring ministries. A monthly nursing home singing ministry was started and continues today. Another monthly ministry called Barnie’s café (in reference to Barnabas, the disciple of encouragement) had members making cards of thanks and appreciation for area teachers, service workers, and military personnel.

We have plans to begin new outreach opportunities based on the interests and spiritual gifts of the group. Evangelism is an important aspect of outreach, and we would also like to plan activities that will go along with this important goal.
